Queen’s Cross Young Singers Choral Scholarship
From the church’s first service on April 18, 1881 Queen’s Cross has been known for its musical tradition, through which people have experienced and expressed faith.
Building on this fine musical tradition, Queen’s Cross encourages young, local singers by offering 5 choral scholarships to Aberdeen students in Secondary 4, 5 or 6. Each scholar attends choir practice and sings at Sunday worship services. For their work and dedication, scholars receive a stipend.
The scholarship program affords participants with the opportunity to increase their musical skills, learn a varied repertoire, and gain valuable experience for the future.
Applications are accepted May – August.
Do you sing or play an instrument? Would you like to participate in worship? The Music Ministry of Queen’s Cross Church seeks to provide a place where every person is encouraged to use their God-given musical talents to the glory of God and to the betterment of the community. For more information, please contact Geoffrey Atkinson, our Master of Music.
If you are interested in joining the choir at Queen’s Cross Church Choir, you will be made most welcome! The choir contributes to the 10:30 am service each Sunday from September to June each year. During the summer, a less formal group sings a simple anthem during the service.
Choir rehearsals from September to June take place in the Session Room from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm each Thursday evening, as well as 9:30 am each Sunday before the service.
